Ted Stevens used to "bring home the bacon." That was before the bacon was a political "wedge" issue (Thanks to GOP whining about "Earmarks"--you may remember.) As far as Republicans go, I rank him close to the top: Because even if you hated him, you couldn't deny he put food on the table.
How many people have an airport named after them BEFORE they die? Ah.... The good old days. And the guy's life was almost a miracle. His wife was killed in a plane crash--which he survived. Many years later he died in a plane crash, too...
